Home, Work, and On-the-Town: A Cosmetics and Hygiene Blog

If you're a busy person, you probably get ready early, spend a long day at work, hit the town for drinks or food, and arrive home late. Your hygiene routine has to ensure that you stay looking and feeling fresh for that length of time, and if you wear make-up, you want it to look great all day long as well. That can be challenging on the best of days, and it can feel impossible on your worst days. I can help! My name is Mari. I am a lawyer who's always busy, and I keep running all day long from work, to meetings, to lunches, to nights out with my friends. Because of that, I learned a lot about how to stay feeling fresh and looking great. In this cosmetics and hygiene blog, I'm going to share my tips for men and women. Enjoy!

Are You Losing Hair? Try Men's Scalp Micropigmentation

If you are a man and you are losing your hair, this can be difficult to deal with. Fortunately, there are many options for taking care of this problem. One of the best options is scalp micropigmentation. Below is information on what this is and how it works so you can decide if this would be right for you.

Scalp Micropigmentation

One big benefit of scalp micropigmentation is that it is a permanent option. You will not have to worry about constantly reapplying products or having surgery. It is permanent because it is a hair tattoo, also called a scalp tattoo. Just like when you get a tattoo on your arm or another part of your body, it is almost impossible to remove it.

You need to make sure you have this done by someone that is trained. The technician uses a fine needle that deposits pigment into your scalp. The pigment is the color of your hair and looks like natural hair when they are finished.

The needles used for scalp micropigmentation are much smaller when compared to needles used to get a traditional tattoo. This is because the ink is deposited shallowly onto the skin while the ink is deposited deeply into the skin with a regular tattoo.

After Care

You may have fading over time, and if so, you can get a touch-up treatment to take care of this. This will depend on many things, such as how much you are in the sun. Wear a hat when you go outside in the sun or use sunscreen on your scalp.

The technician will tell you not to get your scalp wet for a week or so after the procedure. You can put a moisturizer on your skin if you prefer. The technician will tell you the type of moisturizer you should use.

When you start washing your scalp you must do this gently. You do have open wounds on your scalp that have not had enough time to completely heal yet. These wounds can become infected as any wound on your body could.  As the wounds heal you will get small scabs on them. Let these scabs fall off on their own and do not pick at them.

The technician that you hire can go over this procedure with you in much more detail. They can also give you more information on aftercare when the procedure is finished.
